Garrard, Panton St., London, spring detent pocket chronometer, 15 jewels, key wind and set gilt full plate movement with Earnshaw spring detent escapement, free sprung cut bimetallic balance with helical balance spring, wedge shaped compensation weights and diamond endstone in a purpose made, silver, hinged back and bezel, consular open face case and Roman numeral white enamel dial, blued steel spade and whip hands, serial #669, 58mm.
CONDITION:
CASE: Later, made in the early 19th century style for this movement; A few minor dings; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case. DIAL: Hairlines and cracks in enamel; Filled loss, edge, 7:00- 9:00. HANDS: Minor oxide. MOVEMENT PLATES: Minor scratches on plate; Jewel screw replaced; A few screws with minor loss to blue; Hairspring stud with specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Detent spring repaired at foot.
